Project Size: 2.3MW
Turbine: 1 x Enercon E70
Dimensions: Overall height to tip 99.5m
Status: In operation
Cambridgeshire: situated at Anglian Water Services’ Sewage Treatment Works, approximately 2.5 km north-east of March
The single turbine is capable of producing up to 2.3MW of green power for use by Anglian Water Services to power the Works, with surplus electricity being fed into the local grid.
The planning application was submitted to Fenland District Council in June 2007. In May 2008 the planning committee refused the application, despite their Planning Department’s recommendation to approve. TCI Renewables submitted an appeal which was allowed in 2009.
Work commenced on site in February 2012 with the turbine generating power in September that year.
Public information programmes were held in 2006 to advise the local community and stakeholders of the development proposals.
