Having developed the project since 2007, Air Energy TCI (AET) aligned with a strategic partner to bring the ‘Summerhaven Wind Energy Centre’ through to completion. In November 2009, AET assigned all rights for the “Nanticoke Wind Farm” (as it was originally known) to NextEra Energy Canada (NEC) and has worked closely with NEC in developing the project through to the present day. The project received a Feed-In-Tariff (FIT) contract award from the Ontario Power Authority in April 2010 for 125MW and recently received it’s Renewable Energy Approval (REA) from the Ministry of the Environment (March 2012). Construction has started on the project and AET is continuing to work with NEC in helping deliver the project to commercial operation (Summer 2013).
